 1931

Dan Cake is founded by Jens Eskildsen in Simmelkjær

 

 1959

The bakery moves to a bigger bakery in Give and a more industrial production is started

 

 1966

A new factory is built on Kornvej in Give - and a "large industrial" production begins

 

 1968 Half Moon cake production begins
1972

Swiss Roll production begins

 

1978

The present factory on Hjortsvangen in Give is built

1984

Dan Cake is sold to Foods Trends, UK

 

1990

Dan Cake expands to Poland with two bakeries /distribution

 

1991

Dan Cake / Foods Trends are sold to the french Harry's Group (former Eurobake) - one of Europes biggest bakery Groups

 

1992

Further expansion of sales-/production subsidiary companies in Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic and Turkey.

 

 1997

The total production area is now 20.000 m2 and includes 7 modern production lines (4 cake lines, 2 swiss roll lines and 1 truffle line)

 

1998

Dan Cake Russia is founded

 

2001

Kamps AG - Europes largest bakery group takes over Dan Cake.

The Polish, Czech and Finnish DAN CAKE activitives are taken over by other companies.

 

2004

Dan Cake is taken over by an investor group, where the Danish company GIVESCO A/S is present and the original founders son Erling Eskildsen is influential in the board.

 

2007

Turnover for the year DKK 246 mio.

Dan Cake takes over Vesterlund Bakery (former owned by Coronet Cake Company)

 

Dan Cake establish their own Sales Office in Germany "Dan Cake Deutschland"
